At Ocean Gardens, change is invigorating. Everything we offer empowers you to live a happier, healthier life.

Our wellness mantra is 'live your life, forget your age', and we are fortunate to be joined by a full time Wellness Program Coordinator and accredited Exercise Physiologist who live and breathe it. With an exercise physiology background successfully developing multiple wellness programs internationally, we’ve developed an exclusive evidence based program that delivers a revitalising service for our residents here at Ocean Gardens. Plus, the Wellness Program is complimentary for residents.

The program is all about enhancing your quality of life through a holistic approach to wellbeing. Through fun, social classes and activities, we help you manage chronic disease conditions, remain safe and well in your own homes longer and provide a level of vibrancy within the village. Ultimately, it’s about empowering you with greater confidence in yourself. And if that makes you willing to do more or try new things, we’ve done our job.

Our Wellness Team can also work alongside local physiotherapists to further assist you in any rehabilitation programs, such as post-operative surgery, to ensure a smooth transition to recovery.

Our weekly schedule of wellness classes includes:
  • Stability and balance
  • Tai chi for arthritis and wellbeing
  • Functional fitness
  • Mobilise and energise
  • Bodyflow and balance
  • Aqua moves
  • Sit and be fit
  • Walking group

These physical classes are delivered alongside cognitive wellness groups (including morning quiz, craft/knitting and board games) to strike the perfect balance of physical and mental wellbeing.

Living Longer Living Stronger at Ocean Gardens

In addition to the classes offered through our Wellness Program, we are also offering residents and members of the community, the chance to participate in Living Longer Living Stronger classes in our gym. Classes are packaged in blocks of 16 with two classes per week for eight weeks with the cost paid upfront.

Living Longer, Living Stronger class costs:

  • Non-residents - $150 for 16 classes
  • Residents - $120 for 16 classes

Non-residents will also need to undergo a clearance screening and assessment by our instructor prior to the first class at a cost of $50.

Living Longer Living Stronger is an evidence based progressive strength training and exercise program designed specifically for the over 50's. Monthly health topics are promoted and run addressing national or topical health issues. Guest speakers are also organised frequently and encourage residents to take interest in their own chronic disease management and/or prevention.

With easy stair entry, our heated pool is perfect for lap swimming and our fun Aqua Moves or Hydro Walking classes (non-weight bearing, low impact exercise).

One-on-one sessions

You can schedule a private training session with our wellness coordinator or accredited exercise physiologist, who can instruct and guide you on a how to use the equipment correctly or create an exercise program customised for your unique needs. These one-on-one, personalised training sessions allow us to provide you with the confidence and motivation to continue your wellness journey.

We also offer assessments targeting lower body strength, balance and mobility to identify fall risks and promote prevention and rehabilitation, which can be achieved through a home visit service or appointment (arrange via the wellness centre).

The wellness program provides free, private and confidential individual Health Risk Assessments (HRA):

  • Nutrition and exercise questionnaire
  • Biometric measures and a diabetes risk assessment
  • Blood pressure, blood glucose and cholesterol
  • Wellbeing and goal setting
