Dane O’Callaghan is a senior property, asset, and investment professional with more than 30 years of experience spanning architecture, property development, asset management, and corporate real estate. He is currently Regional General Manager, Australia & Europe – Property & Workplace at BHP, where he leads the group’s real estate portfolio with a strong focus on strategy, user experience, and community outcomes. His earlier leadership roles spanned major development and asset optimisation programs across the private and resources sectors.

At board level, Dane brings a strong blend of strategic, operational, and values-driven leadership across retirement living, community, education, and the arts. He is Chair of Alchera Living, and a Non-Executive Director of Barking Gecko Arts and Awesome Arts Australia. In these roles he has overseen strategy development, governance reform, asset optimisation and community engagement initiatives, giving him deep insight into the strategic, operational and regulatory challenges faced by not-for-profit organisations.

Dane holds a Master of Applied Finance and a Master of Business Administration, alongside architectural qualifications from the University of Western Australia. He is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management, underscoring his commitment to commercial success, governance, leadership, and professional excellence.

Dane joined the Ocean Gardens Board in 2025.
