We’re proud to offer an exclusive, evidence-based wellness program at Ocean Gardens, led by a dedicated Wellness Program Coordinator and Accredited Exercise Physiologist. With a strong background in exercise physiology and a track record of developing successful wellness programs, our team brings energy and expertise to every session.

Designed to be fun, inclusive, and accessible to all, this revitalising program supports physical and mental wellbeing while promoting long-term health and longevity. Best of all, it’s completely complimentary for all Ocean Gardens residents.

The program is all about enhancing your quality of life through a holistic approach to wellbeing. With fun, engaging classes and activities, we help you manage health conditions, maintain independence at home for longer, and bring renewed energy to village life. At its heart, the program is about building your confidence, so you feel encouraged to do more, explore new experiences, and make the most of each day. When that happens, we know we’ve achieved what we set out to do.

Our Wellness Team also works closely with local physiotherapists and allied health professionals to support your prehabilitation and rehabilitation needs. Whether you're recovering from surgery, managing the effects of a fall, or focusing on prevention, we’re here to ensure a smooth, supported path to recovery and wellbeing.

Our weekly scheduled Wellness classes are reviewed regularly to ensure we deliver classes of interest to our residents.

These physical classes are complemented by resident-led group activities - such as board games, book club, language groups, art sessions, and community gardening - creating a well-rounded blend of physical and mental wellbeing. Together, they empower our residents to stay active, socially connected, and supported in achieving their personal health goals.

  Education

Health topics are promoted and run addressing national or topical health issues. Guest speakers are also organised frequently and encourage residents to take interest in their own chronic disease management and/or prevention.

  Pool

With easy stair entry, our heated pool is perfect for lap swimming and our fun aqua classes featuring non-weight bearing, low impact exercise, coupled with rehab options in the pool, further support our residents to maintain their health and fitness.

  Gym

At Ocean Gardens, we want you to think of our onsite gym as your own private health club, available any time to energise your body and mind.  Our commercial grade equipment and machines are regularly maintained to ensure you have a safe environment to work out in so that you can focus on the fundamental exercises to achieve your health goals. Our equipment includes:

  • DAP Cable machine
  • Stationary and recliner cycles
  • Treadmill
  • Rowing machine
  • Handheld free weights
  • Height adjustable steps
  • Stability balls and other balance enhancers
  • Exercise mats and resistance bands
  One-on-one sessions

We encourage all our new residents to reach out and book an induction to our gym once they are settled.  Safety is a high priority, and we want to ensure you know how to use our equipment safely and understand how you can access emergency assistance if needed.

Private training sessions with one of our Wellness Team are available to all residents.  The Wellness Team can instruct and guide you on a how to use the equipment correctly and create an exercise program customised for your unique needs. These one-on-one, personalised sessions allow us to provide you with the confidence and motivation to continue your wellness journey.

All individual sessions begin with a screening and assessment reviewing strength, balance, and mobility to identify any potential fall risks, promote prevention and rehabilitation, and determine your goals.  Private appointments are held in our office or in-home.
